Typical Lucy :)

Lucy has been camping with her Nan-Nan and Pop for the last two days and I miss her like crazy! She will be home tomorrow and I can’t wait. I’ll be keeping her home from daycare so I can spend tomorrow and friday with her before I head to Cuba for my best friends wedding! Im super excited but it’s the first time I will be away from her for a week so I’m pretty anxious but I’m sure she’ll be fine :)

Tonight I can’t stop watching this video I took of Lucy before she left. It captures her personality perfectly…her storytelling and performing skills are starting to shine lately :)

Rain, rain go away

I think we’re all sick of the rain right? It’s been a looong time since we’ve had a nice sunny day and one couldn’t come soon enough. Today was the closest we’ll see for a while yet so we decided to take advantage and get outside to check our recently planted strawberry plants.

We ended up finding some puddles which of course Lucy immediate jumped in. Instead of being my usual hard ass self I decided to join in and get a little dirty. It was seriously the most fun I’ve had in a while! I’m so happy I let loose and enjoyed the moment instead of worrying about getting dirty…I felt like a kid again as we would count to three and jump as hard as we could to make the biggest splash. Fun times!

Mother of the year over here

We just got back from an amazing week in Punta Cana to celebrate my brothers wedding…a week in paradise really and I did not want to come home. I’ll get to all those details in a later post but right now I need to make a confession…

After lucy’s bath tonight she picked out her jammies like most every night while I got some other things around the house organized…all of a sudden she comes out of the room saying “fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck” in a totally exasperated voice. It took me a few times to understand that she actually was saying that but I have to admit I couldn’t stop laughing when she said she was saying it cause she lost something. Even more so when she said that’s what I say when I lose something…obviously we explained it was a bad word and not even mommy should say it. Her response? “it’s not a bad word! It’s my best word!!”
I literally could not stop laughing but I have to admit its definitely time to clean up my language.
I think the title says it all here…
